This course helps teachers value the power of “learning by doing” through the diverse natural and cultural landscape of Cyprus. Participants explore how hands-on experiences, outdoor learning, and real-world connections can make lessons more meaningful and inclusive.
The island itself becomes a learning environment: from the coastal paths of Cape Greco and the windmills of Paralimni to the sculpture parks and botanical gardens of Avgorou. Through guided fieldwork, creative workshops, and group projects, educators learn how to design lessons that engage students’ senses, curiosity, and critical thinking.
Practical sessions are balanced with short theoretical inputs and reflection activities, ensuring that participants not only experience experiential learning but also understand how to adapt it to their own teaching context.
By the end of the week, teachers will:
Rediscover the joy of active, hands-on learning,
Gain practical strategies for making lessons more inclusive and engaging,
Learn how to design and lead their own meaningful field experiences,
And carry home a renewed sense of inspiration for their teaching practice.
