This experiential course invites teachers to explore the dynamic process of Devising Theatre—a collaborative and imaginative form of theatre-making that begins not with a script, but with an idea, a question, or a shared theme. Through guided practical activities, participants will engage in ensemble-building, improvisation, storytelling, and physical expression, discovering how meaning can be shaped collectively through creative experimentation. The course emphasizes both artistic and pedagogical insight, offering an engaging blend of theory and practice that nurtures reflective, creative, and adaptable educators.
Importantly, the principles of Devising Theatre extend far beyond drama education. Teachers of all subjects will uncover how devising methods can invigorate their classrooms, transforming traditional content into participatory, student-centered learning experiences. By embracing collaborative creation, teachers can encourage critical thinking, empathy, and innovation—skills essential for 21st-century learners. This course empowers educators to reimagine teaching as a creative act, where imagination, inquiry, and collaboration become core tools for learning.
